Adamawa Factional ADC Suspends Atiku, Babachir Lawal Over Alleged Misconduct

A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State has announced the suspension of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal over alleged misconduct.

Factional chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Raji Zumo, disclosed this while addressing journalists in Yola, stating that the duo were suspended for alleged gross indiscipline.

Zumo said the suspension also affects members of the Sadiq Dasin-led executive council of the faction, adding that those affected would be subjected to further disciplinary procedures.

ADC is not a personal property, and we will not allow any individual or group, no matter how highly placed, to hijack the party or turn it into a personal estate,” he said.

He further alleged that Atiku and Lawal had been attempting to impose candidates on the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to him, such actions have brought the party into disrepute, stressing that the faction would not tolerate any conduct capable of undermining its integrity.
