Dunamis Head Pastor Turns Down ₦30m Donation from Kebbi Governor

A video showing Paul Enenche, senior pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, rejecting a N30 million donation from the Kebbi state governor, has gone viral.

The incident occurred during a two-day healing and deliverance crusade held by the cleric in Birnin Kebbi, the state’s capital, from June 17 to 18.

During the event, an aide to Nasir Idris, Kebbi governor, presented the gift on behalf of the state government.

“You know, whenever His Excellency makes a donation, he doesn’t leave without making that donation in cash. So, before I leave this stage, I want to present that sum of N30 million in cash.”

However, Enenche declined the gift, stating that the reasoning behind the gesture was understood.

He also suggested that the donation be channelled towards supporting an orphanage.

“If there’s anything like an orphanage, if there’s anything like that, at your discretion, please apply this amount of money to it. It will not be received,” the pastor said repeatedly.

“They (Kebbi government) are only trying to demonstrate hospitality, the hospitality is very, very clear.”

Responding to Enenche’s refusal, the governor’s aide said the gesture reflected Idris’ nature of showing appreciation to all visitors.

“Our governor, whoever comes to Kebbi state, he will definitely show him hospitality and show him appreciation, equity,” he said.

The aide also expressed gratitude to the pastor for his contributions to the Christian community in the state.
