Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, arrived at Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, at exactly 11:50 a.m. today, marking his return to the state just two days after President Bola Tinubu lifted the state of emergency declared in Rivers.
The governor was welcomed by a delegation of prominent political figures and former government officials. Among those present were former Commissioner for Information, Barr. Emma Okah; ex-Commissioner for Health, Dr. Adaeze Oreh; and Nigeria’s former Ambassador to the Netherlands, Oji Ngofa.
Also in attendance were former lawmakers and political allies, including ex-Environment Commissioner Sydney Gbara, former factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly Victor Oko-Jumbo, and former Commissioners Chisom Gbali, Evans Bipi, and Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja.
Former Port Harcourt City Council Chairman Ezebunwo Ichemati, ex-Obio/Akpor Chairman, and past NUPENG President Igwe Achese were also part of the reception team.
Governor Fubara’s return is expected to rekindle political activity in the state following the recent easing of federal intervention.
